This is a very nice World War 1 'U-boot-Kriegsabzeichen 1918' (U-Boat War Badge 1918) which is executed in 'Buntmetall'. The U-Boat War Badge 1918 was instituted by 'Kaiser Wilhelm II' on 1 February 1918 for award to all ranks of U-Boat personnel who had served in at least three sorties against the enemy or were wounded in action. The pin & catch are of course fully functional. The badge is nicely maker marked with 'Walter Schot fec.'. The badge still shows a fair amount of it's original greenish patina. This is a hard to find original World War 1 periodic awarded badge. Nice original WW1 U-boat war badge!
