Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse). On 1 September 1939 Hitler reinstituted the Iron Cross (First time in 1813). The 2nd class cross was for award to personnel who performed a single act of bravery in combat. The cross has a three piece construction with an iron core, the cross shows great detail. There is some minor paint loss. The cross is maker marked with number '7' indicating production by the company of 'Paul Meybauer' from Berlin. The cross is nicely period mounted on a so-called 'Einzelspange' (single medal bar). Nice example in good used condition!
