Death Notice for two brothers

Death notice (Sterbebild). A common practice in Europe that continues to this day, is the issue of a remembrance card on the death of a family member. This is a death notice for 'Johann Schneiderbauer' who was an SS 'Sturmmann' and his brother 'Josef Schneiderbauer' who was a 'Gefreiten' within a 'Grenadier Regiment'. Johann was killed in action on 3 May 1944 in Romania. He was awarded with the Panzer Assault Badge in Bronze (Panzerkampfabzeichen in Bronze) and the Wound Badge (Verwundeten Abzeichen). Josef died on 2 January 1944. He was awarded with the Iron Cross 2nd class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse) and the Wound Badge in Black and Silver (Verwundeten Abzeichen in Schwarz und Silber). This death notice measures approximately 13,5 x 10,5 cms. Interesting original death notice!
