Wehrmacht Bakelite Binocular Case (Behälter für Doppelfernrohr). The German army used a wide variety of optical enhancement items with the 6 x 30 power binoculars being the standard issue optics utilized by all branches of service. This bakelite case is intended for storage of the standard 6 x 30 binoculars (Dienstglas). The bakelite is in good condition and there is a marking on the bakelite. The case comes without the leather carrying strap as usual. The case can be carried on the belt with two leather belt loops, one of the belt loops is nicely 'WaA' marked, the other is maker marked by the company of 'Fr. Offermann & Sohne' from Bensberg and dated 1940. The closure mechanism comes with a nice grey italian leather pull tab. The metal parts have most likely been repainted in black once. The case is in overall good used condition. Nice piece of equipment!
