WH Binoculars - 'Dienstglas' 10x50
Late war larger typeWehrmacht 10 x 50 Binoculars / Dienstglas (Doppelfernrohr). The German army used a wide variety of optical enhancement items with the 6 x 30 power binoculars being the standard issue optics utilized by all branches of service, these larger 10x50 type binoculars were issued to specialized personnel, for example artillery and/or panzer observers. Binoculars are in complete condition with undamaged 'Bakelite' eyecups. The Binoculars are nicely maker marked with 'rln' indicating production by the company of 'Carl Zeiss' from Jena. The binoculars also bears the inscription: 'Dienstglas 10x50', the unique number '30233'. There is a small cross symbol indicating that the binoculars were 'Kaltefest' and could be used in cold climates. The optics are clear and complete with reticle (Strichplatte). There is a double 'U' marking, the meaning of these markings are so far unknown. These grey painted binoculars probably date from the period in late 1944/1945. The binoculars are in very good condition with some minor traces of usage. Nice original binoculars!
