Description

Matching K98 Combat Bayonet with Frog (Seitengewehr 98K mit Seitengewehrtasche). The K98 bayonet was a standard issue item and was accompanied by a bayonet frog to be worn on the reverse left side of the load carrying waist belt. The K98 bayonet remained the standard issue bayonet through-out the war with minor manufacturing variations. The bayonet and scabberd are nicely maker marked company of 'Carl Eickhorn' from Solingen. The bayonet and scabberd are marked with the mathcing serial-number '6802'. The blade is in very good condition, the bayonet is having bakelite grips. The bayonet comes with its original blackened leather frog as found, the frog is nicely maker marked by the company 'Carl Herting & Co' from Stuttgart Feuerbach and dated 1940. Nice original bayonet in good condition!
