MGZ40 Optical Sight in Box (M.G.Z.40 im Transportkasten). The German MGZ40 Optical Sight was intended for use with the MG34 and later the MG42 machine gun, it could be mounted on a Lafette tripod. The sight is in complete condition with original rubber eyecup, the sight retains most of its original grey coloured paint, there are some traces of a removed black overpaint. The sight is nicely maker marked with 'cxn' indicating production by the company of 'Emil Busch AG' from Rathenow, the sight is marked with the unique serial-number '130561'. The optics are clear. The sight is complete with its original transport box including one of the filters. The box is showing a most likely post-war green overpaint, the grey coloured factory paint is clearly visible beneath the overpaint. It comes with a probably Italian made 1943 dated sling as found together. Rare and hard to find original MGZ40 Optical Sight in Box in good used condition!
