Rare Bakelite 6x30 Binoculars 'Dienstglas'

Description

Rare late war Bakelite 6x30 Binoculars or 'Dienstglas' (Doppelfernrohr). The German army used a wide variety of optical enhancement items with the 6 x 30 power binoculars being the standard issue optics utilized by all branches of service. This is a rare set of bakelite binoculars, complete with 'Bakelite' eyecups, the metal parts are painted in the standard late war ordnance tan. The Binoculars are nicely maker marked with 'cxn' indicating production by the company of 'Emil Busch AG' from Rathenow. The binoculars also bears the inscription: 'Dienstglas 6x30' and the unique number '417328'. The two metal rings on the bottom of the optics are still present however one is taped to stay in place, this was a weak spot since these rings are often missing. The binoculars are complete with original leather carrying strap as found together. The binoculars are in good used condition with some minor damage to the bakelite as is often seen with these fragile binoculars. They will however display perfectly. Rare original bakelite binoculars which will be perfect for use on a late war mannequin set-up!

These binoculars originate from the collection of the recently closed Eyewitness Museum and were in display in the diorama in the last picture!
