Pre War Luftwaffe M40 Trousers
Luftwaffe M40 Straight Legged Trousers (Lange Hose für Mannschaften). The straight legged trousers were the standard issue Luftwaffe trousers, replaced in 1943 by the 'Keilhose' combat field trousers, the straight legged trousers remained in production and use for the duration of the war. The trousers are made of the standard Luftwaffe blue-grey wool. The trousers have two, diagonally angled, front pockets and a small watch pocket. A strap and metal buckle is sewn on the back for tightening. The trousers are nicely size marked and 'LBA38' marked indicating production around 1938. There is a nice marking "Wachtbatl. d. Luftwaffe Bln." indicating Wachbatallion der Luftwaffe Berlin which were tasked with guarding the Reichsluftfahrtministerium in Berlin. The total length from the trousers is approximately 117cms, the waist measures approximately 44cms. The trousers are in only slightly worn condition showing minor traces of usage, one button is missing, see photos. Hard to find original pair of pre war Luftwaffe straight legged trousers in very good condition!
