Luftwaffe Tropical Tunic

Description

Luftwaffe Tropical Tunic (Tropenfeldbluse). In late 1940, with the impending German entrance into the North African campaign, tropical uniforms and equipment were quickly developed and issued in time for DAK personnel's arrival in Tripoli in February 1941. Originally the tropical uniforms were only intended for wear in North Africa but that was later expanded to include personnel serving in southern areas of continental Europe during the summer months. The light weight tan cotton construction field blouse is complete with an original applied Luftwaffe tropical breast-eagle. The tunic is complete with all brown painted pebbled buttons and glass type buttons at the sleeve ends. The tunic is nicely maker marked by the famous company 'Peek & Cloppenburg' from Berlin, there are various size markings, it's a good medium size. The tunic is in clearly worn and sun-faded condidion, showing some staining and small repairs, see photos. This tunic would be great for a Crete Paratrooper display as well. Stunning combat worn Luftwaffe Tropical Tunic!
