This is a nice World War 1 period German Army Bread bag (Brotbeutel). The bread bag was worn attached to the belt on the right side of the back. The breadbag is made of a grey/tan-coloured, water repellent, canvas material. The breadbag is nicely maker marked and dated 1916. One of the leather straps on the inside and the leather tab on the outside are regrettably missing, see photos. Nice and hard to find original WW1 German bread bag in good used condition!
