German M16 Combat Helmet Shell (Stahlhelmglocke M16). The German M16 Helmet was developed in late 1915 and introduced in the spring of 1916, this was the first modern German steel helmet. The steel construction M16 helmet retains most of its original fieldgrey paint. The paint shows normal wear and scratches caused by usage. The liner is regrettably missing. The shell is marked with maker and size 'Si62'. 'Si' is indicating production by the 'Eisenhütte Silesia' from Paruschowitz. This is a nice untouched original shell which will be worth restoring with an original liner. Great looking original German WW1 helmet shell!
