Kriegsmarine Visor Cap
Kriegsmarine NCO's Visor Cap (Schirmmütze). Visor caps were a standard item for all armed forces personnel during the Third Reich period. Although enlisted personnel were issued their caps from government supplies they were also permitted to purchase privately tailored caps. This is privately purchased visor cap, complete with celluloid sweat-diamond. The typical blue navy lining material came partly loose and is showing some small damages and/or repairs. The cap has no visible size markings, the size is approximately 56cms. The leather sweatband is in good condition. The cap is complete with its original hand-embroidered wreath and separately attached aluminum cocarde, the wreath is nicely hand-embroidered in bullion thread on a dark navy-blue woolen background. The cap-eagle is a nice aluminum example which still retains most of its original golden finish. The cap has a great shape and look. The cap is showing normal traces of usage and is in overall very good condition, see photos. Hard to find original Kriegsmarine visor cap!
