Luftwaffe M40 SD Camouflaged Helmet
Luftwaffe M40 Single Decal Camouflage Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M40). The steel construction M40 helmet retains most of its three-tone tan/brown/green 'Normandy' camouflage overpaint, a Luftwaffe decal looks to be faintly visible beneath the paint. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is an M31 leather liner with all eight fingers intact and the original liner cord is present as well, the leather is in good condition. The liner is approximately a size 55/56. The shell is marked with maker and size 'SE64'. 'SE' is indicating production by the company of 'Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke A.G.' from Lauter. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '10029'. The helmet is complete with its original leather chinstrap, the chinstrap is marked with a RB.Nr.
