Luftwaffe M40 Single Decal Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M40). The steel construction M40 helmet retains most of its rough textured, blue-gray paint and about 95% of the decal. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet is a M31 leather liner with all eight fingers intact, the leather is still supple, the liner is a size '55'. The liner is missing the drawstring. The shell is marked with maker and size 'Q62'. 'Q' is indicating production by the 'F.W. Quist, G.m.b.H.' in Esslingen. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped lot-number 'DN172' and the painted name 'Orsinger'. The helmet is complete with its original leather chinstrap. Nice original Luftwaffe helmet in very good condition!
