WH (Heer) M43 Field Cap
WH (Heer) M43 Cap (Einheitsfeldmütze M43). The M43 field cap was introduced for wear by all ranks on 11 June 1943 as a replacement cap for all other field caps then in use. The design of the M43 field cap was based on the earlier M42 overseas cap (Feldmütze) and the Mountain Trooper’s Mountain Cap (Bergmütze) with minor variations. The standard issue M43 field caps were constructed of field-grey wool. The cap is having rayon lining material, the cap is nicely marked with 'RB.Nr.0/0678/5015' and size '57' marked, it is dated 1944. The cap is complete with an original machine-applied M43-model cap-eagle/cocarde (trapezoid), the insignia has been damaged/worn through on top, see photos. The cap is in heavily worn condition with clear traces of usage, see photos. If you want to make a combat display, this cap is it. Nice and nowadays hard to find original combat worn WH (Heer) M43 cap!
