Waffen-SS Camouflage Helmet Cover
Waffen-SS 2nd Pattern Oakleaf 'A' Camouflage Helmet Cover (Stahlhelmbezüge). By regulations of around mid-1942 foliage loops were added to the camouflage covers. This cover is showing the reversible spring/autumn camouflage colours in the oakleaf 'A' (Eichenlaubmuster A) camouflage pattern. The cover was secured to the helmet by three springs, the springs are still functional. Some rust spots are visible on the cloth, see close-up photos. The bottom edges of the springs are rivetted to the rocker clips while the top edges of the springs are stitched directly to the cover. The cover is marked with a red-ink marking (size 3), the cover will fit on a size '64' helmet. Scarce original Waffen-SS camouflage helmet cover in very good condition!
This helmet cover originates from the collection of the recently closed Eyewitness Museum and was in display in the diorama in the last picture!
Waffen-SS 2e model helm-overtrek in 'Eichenlaubmuster A' camouflage (Stahlhelmbezüge). Door regelgeving werden vanaf ongeveer midden 1942 camouflage-lusjes (om takken achter te steken) op de helm-overtrekjes genaaid. De helm-overtrek is omkeerbaar in lente/herfst kleuren in het 'Eichenlaubmuster A' camouflage patroon. De overtrek werd aan de helm bevestigd d.m.v. drie spring-veren, de spring-veren zijn nog functioneel, er is wel wat roest zichtbaar op de stof, zie close-up foto's. De spring-veren zijn aan één kant vast geklonken aan de haakjes om de overtrek mee aan de helm-rand te haken, aan de andere kant zijn de spring-veren direct aan de stof genaaid. Er staat een rode inkt-stempel op de stof (maat 3), de overtrek past op een maat '64' helm. Zeldzaam origineel Waffen-SS camouflage helm-overtrekje in erg goede staat!
Dit helmovertrekje is afkomstig uit de collectie van het onlangs gesloten Eyewitness Museum en was voorheen te zien in het diorama dat wordt getoond in de laaste foto!
