Wehrmacht (Heer) M40 Winter Camouflage Combat Helmet (Stahlhelm M40). The stamped sheet steel construction M40 helmet retains most of its grey-white winter camouflage overpaint, you can clearly see the brush strokes in the paint. The paint shows normal wear and scratches caused by usage, see photos. All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The interior of the helmet has a M31 leather liner. The liner is showing some damage to the leather but is in overall good condition, the drawstring is missing. The shell is marked with maker and size 'ET64' which indicates production by the company 'Eisen-und Hüttenwerke, AG' in Thale/Harz. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number '450'.
